Tuskegee University Setting the Stage for a “TUGETHER” Homecoming Celebration

TU mascot and cheerleaders wave in the parade.Tuskegee University is gearing up for its much-anticipated annual Homecoming celebration, promising a week filled with nostalgia, camaraderie, and spirited festivities. This cherished tradition brings together alums, students, faculty, and the local community in a celebration marking Tuskegee’s rich legacy.

Scheduled for October 8-15, 2023, Tuskegee University Homecoming is poised to draw record crowds to enjoy a variety of events. This year’s theme, “TUGETHER” encapsulates the spirit of unity and progress that defines the Tuskegee experience.

This year marks the 99th Homecoming, and Tuskegee alumnus, trailblazing visionary, and Bitcoin expert Sinclair Skinner will serve as the Grand Marshal and Homecoming speaker for Sunday’s Convocation.

Homecoming Highlights:

The Mister and Miss Tuskegee Gala: The evening of glamor and poise will celebrate the 26th Mister Tuskegee University, Keith Kimbrow II, and the 94th Miss Tuskegee University, Brianna Miles. The gala will start at 6 p.m. at the Chappie James Arena.

The Homecoming Parade: The vibrant parade will wind its way through the heart of Tuskegee University, featuring a dazzling array of floats, the Marching Crimson Piper Band, and spirited participants from the local community.

Alumni Reunion Events: Graduates from the Classes of 1988, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008, 2013, and 2018 will convene for class reunions, sharing memories and renewing friendships. In addition, a Class Reunion Brunch will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Alumni Tent on Logan Hall Lawn.

Homecoming Game: The weekend’s pinnacle, the homecoming football game, promises an electrifying atmosphere as the Tuskegee Golden Tigers take on Edward Waters College at 1:00 p.m. at Cleve Abbot Memorial Alumni Stadium.

Homecoming Concert Performances: The stage will come alive on Friday, Oct. 13, as Lady K, Kashdoll, and Rob 49 perform during the SGA Homecoming Concert. Alums are invited to attend the official Black Party featuring Chubb Rock and Pastor Troy inside Logan Hall from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

“Homecoming is an important annual tradition in the life of the Tuskegee University community,” said Associate Vice-President of Student Affairs Abena Myers-Taylor. “It’s a weekend of celebrating people whose friendships, careers, and lives were shaped by their Tuskegee experience.”
