WSFA Channel 12 News broadcasts from Tuskegee

WSFA Channel 12 News from Montgomery broadcasted a Live segment from downtown Tuskegee, Alabama on Wednesday, October 23, 2019. News anchors Valarie Lawson, John O’Connor, meteorologist Josh Johnson and other on WSFA’s media team broadcasted their segment of “Hometown Tour” from right here on the Square in the City of Tuskegee, Alabama.

In attendance were community leaders, Macon County Schools leaders and students, members of the Macon County Board of Education. And of course Tuskegee University represented with our band, cheerleaders, the SGA and Royal Court.

Valarie and John did interviews with Mayor Tony Haygood, Superintendent Jacquelyn Brooks, and other community leaders.  They also interviewed the TU SGA president Micah Grey, Miss TU Simone Amos, and told everybody what to expect at our Homecoming this year. Also highlighted were the Tuskegee Airmen’s Museum and National Historic Site, TU’s historic preservation project, the new developments at Exit 38, the naming of our golden tiger mascot, and much more happenings in the City of Tuskegee.
