For as far back as we can remember, our Tiger mascot has not had a name. He has been called the “Tiger”, or “TU Tiger”, or “Golden Tiger”, or even “Hey You in the Suit”. But now the wheels are turning to find our Tiger a name. So, a naming contest was held that allowed students, faculty, staff, alumni, and fans to suggest possible names for our feisty golden mascot.
So, a committee made up of student leaders, cheerleaders, and representatives from alumni affairs and the communications office sorted through those suggestions and narrowed down the list to about five names to vote on. Online voting at www.tuskegee.edu/nameourtiger is open until Wednesday, October 23, 2019.
The winning name will be announced during the pre-game show at the Homecoming game on November 9, 2019.
